Pasemos a algo un poco mas pesado y menos armonico para destrozar el craneo con un poco de folk metal.

Eluveitie es una banda Suiza formada por Chrigel Glanzmann usando un sinfin de hilos de la cultura antigua celta, leyendas y cientos de referencias hacia la cultura medieval, de hecho el nombre Eluveitie proviene de una traduccion de una palabra etrusca encontrada en una pintura antigua.

Su estilo musical es netamente folk usando instrumentos medievales como la zanfoña (una especie de caja musical que es la apariencia que tiene) gaitas, flautas entre otros, todo mezclado con poderosos riff de guitarra y una interpretacion gutural de su vocalista lo que le da un toque sumamente violento pero al mismo tiempo sombrio y enigmatico.

Durante los ultimos discos han venido usando la colaboracion de vocalistas feneminas entre sus filas lo que ha hecho que su sonido de un interesante giro, haciendolo un poco menos rudo y  mas cadensioso sin perder un apice de su poder.

Eluveitie es una de las bandas folk mas "famosas" dentro del mainstrem del genero, pero siempre es bueno que los conozcan si es que no lo habian hecho antes.

Los miembros actuales de la banda son:

Merlin Sutter - Batería
Anna Murphy - Voz, zanfoña, flauta, coros
Ivo Henzi - Guitarra
Kay Brem - Bajo

Nicole Ansperger - Violín

We're beyond excited to share really awesome news with you!
Because we can now say: FINALLY! The time of waiting has come to an end.
For our future line-up as a band is final now, WE ARE COMPLETE AGAIN!
And it feels so incredibly good. :) From all our hearts we wanna thank you all for your patience, for your support and for staying with us all the way through these months of uncertainty! You are the best!!!
You might wonder who the new band members of Eluveitie are.
Well, we won't tell you for now.
But stay tuned - in exactly one week, on thursday, December 15 we will launch our brand new website (www.eluveitie.ch)!
And it will start off with a countdown calendar to reveal the new Eluveitie line-up. One by one each band member will be revealed with pictures, videos, interviews and you will even get the chance to have chats with them!

Me gusta, tiene una voz bonita, muy melódica. Aunque descubrí Eluveitie hace poco gracias a Liv, me había acostumbrado a Anna (amo a Liv pero con la excepción de Call of the Mountains no me gustaron mucho sus versiones de los temas), y me chocó un poco oir a Fabienne que tiene una voz muy distinta, pero me agrada. Espero que no pase por lo mismo que Elina y Emmanuelle.

Su fraseo me recuerda a algunas de mis cantantes favoritas fuera del metal (Alanis Morisette, Dolores O'Riordan, y del metal también a Anneke), y en alguna parte escuché un vibrato muy propio de Anette jaja ("aiaiaia"). Suena agradable, cálida. Creo que viene bien para canciones acústicas! ;) Y me pregunto cómo incorporarán el arpa...
