Greetings from the Pluto-sized wonderland!

Hi everyone!

To begin with, the Pluto-sized wonderland is Russia and my name is Veronika. I am a 21-year-old orientalist who leads a life of a house plant (thanks to taking the wrong professional path).

Then, NW fan since 2008. What interests me in addition to this heaven-inspired music is learning languages and reading. I absolutely adore Norwegian and Finnish, can sell my soul for a really good book and believe Nightwish to be the Greatest Band on Earth because of the throughout poetic imagination that stands behind their songs. When I attended NW's concert in Moscow during Imaginaerum Tour, I got blown away to such extent that literally caught fever out of thinking this experience over too hard. If Nightwish didn't exist, they should be dreamed up.

I signed up here a few days ago just to ask Floor and Tuomas several questions and afterwards, flicking this forum over, decided to stay and to try to be a nice company.

Hey, Slayed Dreamer, thanks for your greeting too!

Oh, you are lucky to come from Finland and to be a fan almost from the very beginning. I even fail to imagine how it should feel.

Thanks! We house plants should unite to withstand the outer world. What happened that you sank to the level of immovable photosynthetic creature growing on a windowsill?

It depends on the department you're studying at: it might be either philological, historical, economic or of political science while the list of regions available at each of them is changing from year to year; personally, I'm struggling against the history of Indonesia. We also learn a lot of other stuff concerning this country apart from its history and the language. What to do afterwards is a huge question (to change the specialization, I guess). Those who enjoy their oriental studies can work as translators, scholars, officials etc. Chinese, Japanese and Arabic departments are usually full of dedicated and awesome people (and sometimes weird, too).

Grad school happened.

Please never do that to yourselves, kids.

Ever.

добро пожаловать! welcome to the forums)  I totally understand your feelings after seeing Nightwish, I myself still can't believe I saw them live even though it's been a week already!

Hope you have a nice time here))
