    Nightwish Off Topic

Tidal is Jay-Z's streaming service, it's more expensive than spotify but the audio quality is obviously better and they pay the artists more per song. I don't stream music anyway but if you have the extra money I can see the appeal.

    Within Temptation II

I just saw that, I wonder if they are going to make a video like that for all the songs on the album (I want one for firelight). I already heard her speak about the meaning of the song so none of the information was new, but I liked how she broke it down musically. The stuff about the music video was nice too. It would also be nice if they had some other people in the band comment on the songs.

    Anneke van Giersbergen

Has anyone seen this? it looks interesting, it's a documentary about Anneke. I haven't watched the whole thing and he still uploading more parts but what I've seen I liked. https://vimeo.com/channels/anneke/312409229 I also wish there was a way to get her acoustic album online, I'm kind of sad you can only get it at her shows

    Within Temptation II

One of the ways I even discovered Within Temptation was through limewire, I downloaded a mislabeled song that turned out to be their cover of Running Up That Hill. It was a happy accident for me

Songs You Are Currently Addicted To!

Trophy Hunter is currently my favorite off the new album, it's so good

    Within Temptation II

Considering how they pushed back the release of the album because of physical production problems the fact that they still have these issue is even more embarrassing. I don't care how great a pitch meeting the band had with the label, IMO they need to do better. but with how well the album is selling they might not care...

I see the difference and so do you but not everyone is as emotionally perceptive, and I'm guess someone who films and uploads a video of himself dancing naked isn't the kind of person that picks up on these things. I didn't say the memes were in bad taste, I liked some of them...

    Within Temptation II

IDK if he was part of the facebook group they talked about it quit a lot there. I guess he could of just skimmed through the posts but if you are going to make and post a video about a band that usually indicates that you are more than just a casual fan, so I think he probably did know but just didn't think it over. Also the group is full of memes from the supernova video (some are even funny) so and nobody is offended so maybe he thought it was the some kind of thing.

I hope they play Trophy Hunter also Mad World would be cool for audience participation.

    Within Temptation II

I like the video, you guys scared me with the Ice Queen comparison (which IMO is one of the worst music videos ever). They both have planets in the background, the orange color scheme is similar, and of course it wouldn't be the same without Sharon's signature hand movements/dance moves. But I'm happy to say Supernova is much better shot and I think a very pretty music video. The whole band looks great, and even though I didn't initially love the bangs look on Sharon I think she really pulls it off in the groups shots (she really looks gorgeous there).

    Within Temptation II

Really nice interview with Sharon where she talks about the new record label, how some of the music industry changed over the years and a little bit about the future of My Indigo. http://www.heavymusichq.com/within-temptation-interview/?fbclid=IwAR1IE-vV-9lGd1pASYmr__SNone4aI9VL-aLG1rOe4NA_ImiMoIgGCSqr7U

    Within Temptation II

I don't have a fixed opinion about the album yet, but the initial impression is good. I think it has a nice flow to it, even if I find the overall sound of the music a little muddy and I think this could have been mixed better. Trophy Hunter is a favorite of mine and I still don't like Mercy Mirror, but like @Imagineersaid how I feel about music tends to change over time.

    Within Temptation II

While I do agree the new album is influenced by Sharon solo work on My Indigo (she even said one of the songs is literally repurposed from that project). I think they started going in this direction way before that, I mean they recorded all those cover back in 2012. I can understand people not being into the new sound, I'm not totally sure how I feel about it and I don't think I'll make up my mind until I've listened to the new album for a while (It's the production I'm having the hardest time with, from what I've seen online I like most of the songs played live).

    After Forever

wow , I knew there was tension, but secretly re-recording over a band members work sounds a little out there. It is kind of funny from an outsider's perspective though

    Within Temptation II

I definitely agree it is a very cohesive sounding album (I still don't really like the EDM thing, but hopefully I'll get used to it).I did like the snippet of the 3 songs I haven't heard at all, and I'm still anticipating the full album.

    Tarja Turunen pt. III

I still think she sounded great in her recent christmas concerts. The less classical stuff needs more work, and some of her choices there are just odd but I'm not giving up on her yet.

Songs You Are Currently Addicted To!

Amorphis - Amongst Stars After seeing it on so many peoples album of the year list, I gave in and got it. I'm really glad I did, it's a great album and Anneke makes everything even better IMO. Also I'm still stuck on Tori Amos right now. Tori Amos - Sugar Tori Amos - Purple People

    The Old Era

I can understand some people don't care about lyrics (I like amaranthe so I get it), or maybe not thinking the lyrics are bad in the first place (it is to a certain extent subjective), but if I'm going to judge an album it doesn't get a pass because time has gone by. It would be one thing to say not to judge their newer albums for past mistakes which I agree with each album should stand on its own. But if I don't like the lyrics on DPP, then I don't like them. I don't see how time is supposed to change my mind on this.

    Tarja Turunen pt. III

I think when you are an international artist you eventually just accept that some people are going to mispronounce your name, either because of accent or spelling. but yeah I winced when he said her name. There are so many videos of Tarja saying her name on youtube, you would think interviewers could do 5 minutes of research and at least try to say it right...

    Tarja Turunen pt. III

You were right, she is a fan (I guess I just thought the wording in the other interview was a little odd). I found this, she talks about Lady Gaga at 9:10

    Tarja Turunen pt. III

I didn't get the sense that she actually liked Lady Gaga's music, I mean right after mentioning it she says "I’m buying albums just to listen to how producers work, for example, or if there’s a mixing engineer involved that I like. I listen to different styles because it helps me understand the people behind it better." To me it sounds more like she is doing research for work then anything else...

    Within Temptation II

This is what Sharon said when asked about it in a recent interview: I'm pretty sure I read another interview where Robert also talked more about the meeting and how impressed they were but I can't find it. I don't know if the bigger label was a great idea either sometimes it's better to be the big fish small pond then the other way around...

    Beast In Black

I guess it's a day for releasing singles, besides everything that has been posted on the form today (Within Temptation, Delain, Jinjer) In Flames and Dream Theater also put out new stuff. Beast In Black are a little too power metal for my taste, but it's fun music.

I like it , and the video is very pretty.
