Me today - housemates and I went to a Vintage Fair, had our faces painted, had ice cream... generally awesome day.

They don't. It may seem like it for someone who is shorter and trying to find jeans the right length but I can assure you that most shops don't make jeans that long (especially as their 'standard' length [some do have a 'tall' section and those are more likely to have them]). Trying to find jeans/trousers when you're tall is just as difficult as trying to find jeans when you're short (which is one reason I don't often wear them anymore - am fed up of looking like an idiot with them flapping round my ankles.) Also, I'm not a monster woman

    Express Yourself!

I have a great new job in a place/with people that I really like, I have enough money (ok only just, but I still do), I have some wonderful friends and my family is totally mental (this is a good thing). So why do I feel so low today? I should be happy but I just want to curl up on my bed and cry. Ugh

Getting really close to finishing my latest drawing but had to take a break. Frustration levels were getting dangerous (have been known to rip up drawings when I've got to that stage in the past) so I took a step back. Time to get back to it now, though... It had better go well... I have literally about 50 people waiting to see it.

I got new make up (expensive stuff!) so some photowhoring was called for! I've never had foundation that's pale enough or works properly before (ladies, I'm sure you understand my pain ) so I'm a bit happy about this actually being good make up

Vintage clothes are beautiful! The first dress I made was a blue and white spotty 50s style In general, 1950s style clothes are a very flattering, simple, fun and flirty yet elegant design and they suit pretty much everyone! I have a friend who is about a UK size 22, and she always wore jeans and baggy t-shirts, which of course, did nothing for her. Then she got a job interview and realised she didn't have any good clothes for it, so I made her a 1950s style circle skirt that rested on the lower part of her waist and fell to just above her knees. As soon as she put it on (and then added a fitted top), she looked as if she'd dropped about 3 dress sizes! No exaggeration. Circle skirts are wonderful things - the shape when it hangs makes your waist look smaller, they skim over all those stomach/hip/bum/thigh issues that most of us seem to have, and they look AMAZING when you twirl around (which tends to make you laugh, then you look happy and confident, and that's extremely attractive). In conclusion, I have found circle skirts to be magical!

Thanks It's my favourite of the things I've made To be honest, I think I can sew without a pattern because I'm very creative but I'm also quite logical - so I see the design in my head, but the logical half of my brain can see how all the pieces would be shaped and fit together. Almost like a jigsaw puzzle, I guess! If you have trouble getting clothes to fit properly, learning how to make your own clothes is a brilliant idea, I'd definitely recommend it! Also, it means that whatever you're wearing, you know it's totally unique - not a single person in the entire world will have the same dress/skirt/top/etc as you do

Being able to make your own clothes is a lifesaver! My waist is about 12/13 inches smaller than my boobs (I'm a J-Cup... not fun), plus I'm almost 5ft 10 - they just don't make clothes to fit that kind of frame (unless you're prepared to pay a LOT of money, and I just don't have a lot of money ). I started making things in May 2011, and no-one taught me how or anything, I just did it. I now make as many of my clothes as possible and thankfully, I don't need to use patterns (because from what people have told me, they're expensive). I just... imagine something in my head and make it, so it means I finally have clothes that actually fit and are long enough (which is important for me because I like floor-length skirts and dresses, so if it's too short, it's REALLY obvious). My long red dress that I made in August:

Thanks I did a Yoda one too. The Yoda was my first one, then I decided to challenge myself a bit more and did the Humphrey Bogart one. Then I was so pleased with it, I did the David Tennant as Doctor Who one... that took a LONG time and was veeeery fiddly, but I love it

These aren't new drawings (doing some new things today) but I just wanted to show off some of my other things! Jonsu from Indica: Humphrey Bogart: Laurence Olivier: Marilyn Monroe: Tonks from Harry Potter: This is just part 1! Lots of my art! Couldn't decide which ones to show off so I thought I'd post a whole bunch

    Photographs!

I've been away for a while, doing Christmassy things, and while I could show you guys loads of pictures, I'm settling for: The start of my Christmas - in London with friends, and we saw Death with a Santa hat. Personally, I think that Death just has a love of dressing like that ever since that one Hogswatch where... well you know the one I mean! So, Death and I! The end of my Christmas - a few days after New Year, my friends and I finally got to have our Christmas Day, complete with presents, films, music, and a biiig Christmas dinner (cooked by me). They decided that I was the Mum for the day, so this is the end of the day. Me as Mum-of-the-house, sitting down with a good book and glass of wine while my 'kids' cleared up Christmas mess

Thanks, guys I just realised that I haven't yet shown my other trapeze artist picture! (Cirque du Soleil is really inspiring for an artist)
