    New Tour 2020

I think a band like Sirenia or Angra could work really well as the opening act of Nightwish. There are some similarities in there, but with each band's individual differences and nuances. I also remember that someone said about a co-headliner tour between NW and Evanescence in the States. EV did a tour with Lindsey Stirling already, and will do another with Within Temptation in Europe, so I'd like to believe this might eventually happen.

    The Upcoming Nightwish Album

So it means that the album is ready for mixing and mastering now? If that's right we may have the album done by the end of the year. First single is coming in January 2020. I wish we'd get the album a bit earlier, February would be perfect. I am super excited for this album, can barely wait anymore.

    The Floor thread

I absolutely loved TPotO performance. Floor and Henk have a good chemistry to play their roles, indeed. Rolf's reactions are very amusing to watch too. Loved everything about that show, I'll surely miss the episodes every Saturday afternoon. Having Henk as a guest of Nightwish sounds like a great idea as well. This man was such a nice musical discovery for everybody, I guess.

    Decades: Live in Buenos Aires

It seems that they want to promote this live release as another end of a chapter or era in the band. Will the next album be a big step away from everything they've done before? I like to consider Showtime, Storytime as the end of a chapter or a transition album. It's the bridge between old and new Nightwish. Vehicle of Spirit was more of a pinnacle of their career instead, so I see Decades Live and its respective tour like a big celebration than the end of a chapter. Let's see what future awaits us...
  5. “It’s Sunday, September 30th 2018. In a couple of hours’ time, symphonic metal trailblazers NIGHTWISH will unleash their unique “Decades” show on the huge stage of the Estadio Malvinas in Buenos Aires. And once again, they will be setting aflame the hearts of thousands of dedicated fans. Released back in 2018, “Decades” was so much more than a run-of-the-mill best-of. This comprehensive chronology of the band’s first two decades not only marked the band’s 20th anniversary; it was also the end of yet another era in the stellar career of Finland’s internationally most successful group. The consequent tour, too, was so much more than a regular anniversary run; from March 9th to December 15th 2018, the seventh NIGHTWISH world tour enthralled 82 cities across Europe, North America and South America – armed with a once-in-a-lifetime setlist. Enter the stage »Decades: Live In Buenos Aires«! The divine new live release from Finland’s finest was captured by 19 cameras on that extraordinary night in Argentina. NIGHTWISH came out to the rousing ‘End Of All Hope’ and took their bow to the unmatched epic ‘Ghost Love Score’. In between saw a set filled with pure trailblazing Finnish glory - incorporating distinguished tracks ‘Wish I had an Angel’, ‘Sacrament of Wilderness’, ‘Elvenpath’, ‘Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean’, ‘Dead Boy’s Poem’ and many more… The evening saw countless goose bumps and unforgettable scenes – the definition of an unforgettable night, now documented for all eternity. Today, NIGHTWISH start the pre-order for this monumental live document. It will be released as a BluRay Digibook, 2CD Digipak, BluRay+2CD Earbook, 3LP Order your copy at the official NIGHTWISH webshop: Or from the Nuclear Blast: “I didn’t just want to pick out the most successful NIGHTWISH songs for this tour”, Tuomas Holopainen explains. “Instead, I asked myself which songs I would play to somebody who had never heard of our band. At some point during the preparation process, I realized that I was smiling all the time. I remembered the curious, innocent boy writing all of these songs.“ And while this could have been captured anywhere this symphonic metal carnival pitched their magical tents, it was the Buenos Aires show in particular - a city of NIGHTWISH maniacs in its own right - that was destined to become a fabled event. This show achieved nothing less than taking an important snapshot of the band during yet another pinnacle of their career, celebrated by one of the world’s most enthusiastic crowds in a city like no other. It was pure magic. Let’s put it like this, if you’re already familiar NIGHTWISH, you know why this concert film is essential; and if you’ve happened to stumble across them for the very first time, you will surely be asking yourself just how the heck this could have happened, after seeing it.” Finally we have the official announcement for Decades Live. And I love this artwork so much, one of their best so far. I just don't get why it won't be released in DVD, seems a bit odd. Hope we can also have a kind of trailer or even a live clip from the show soon.

New festival in Poland was announced today. The same symbols from last time can be seen under the band logo. Seems legit.

    The Floor thread

Hell yeah! I was expecting for this since ever! Hope she can squeeze some dates in Brazil too. Setlist predictions are allowed already? Follow in the Cry (growls by Floor included) or My Pledge of Allegiance #1 for the show opener, and maybe GLS would be a good (and obvious) option for the encore. I would love if there were some guests as well. We need the live version of Beyond Me to happen with Floor, Sharon and Mark.

Amy and Sharon will be featured on the upcoming Metal Hammer edition with a huge interview. That's so exciting. They seem so respectful and supportive to each other. Guess the next tour will bring much opportunities for both bands to collaborate more.

    New Tour 2020

I think main focus will be new album (obviously) and post-DPP stuff. Tuomas said that Decades tour would be the last chance to perform some old rarities (which is a shame), so that makes me believe that they intend to focus on the most recent material this time. There are some beautiful pieces to be played with Floor yet, like Dead Gardens, Cadence of Her Last Breath, Eva, Whoever Brings the Night, Rest Calm and Turn Loose the Mermaids to mention a few. However, I think it's commonly agreed by fans that Beauty of the Beast should return to the set. I even dare to say that this should be the new show closure, replacing GLS. I vote for Fantasmic, BotB and Song of Myself as the three epics for the tour. And would give a well deserved rest to: - Ever Dream - Dark Chest of Wonders - Wish I Had an Angel - Nemo - Ghost Love Score - Amaranth - I Want My Tears Back

    The Floor thread

7 years of Nightwish and Floor today. Time flies indeed. At the end of the upcoming tour she will be the singer with most time in the band. So let's celebrate the best symphonic metal union!

    The Upcoming Nightwish Album

This. I don't think they would switch a real orchestra for samples at this point of their career. As someone said, they even did orchestral background for the old songs of Decades tour. Of course they'll do it this time. I believe it won't be that much of orchestra, though. EFMB was less symphonic than Imaginaerum for example, so I guess they want to follow that route with the next album too. As for the video, post-production can certaintly solve a few mistakes. If the core of the single are the instruments and a more band-oriented sound, the orchestral layer will not make a huge impact or difference. And it makes more sense to go to Helsinki right after the recordings (and avail from the presence of all band members) than to gather them all again later on. More of a schedule thing, I guess.

Great song and video! Loved the aesthetics of this one and Masters of Destiny. They're really standing their ground as one of their best bands of the genre. And these guys know how to do a good live show. One year today since I saw them live with Nightwish. Charlotte is enchanting.
