    The Old Era

I don't remember almost anything... I was 9-10 years old back then and my earliest memory of NW is when I heard that Tarja was fired on the radio. The next memory is that my mom bought Century Child. And the next memory is that we bought all the other albums. But I can't remember the first time I actually listened to them!

    The Floor thread

I'm a hunter myself and I agree with Floor. I know much about the mass production of meat through my studies and I'm strongly against that thing. I eat meat, yes, but I rarely buy it from stores. I mostly eat just moose that is shared with the members of our hunting group (there are many moose where I'm from so we shoot about 14 of them every year - that's lots of meat just to be buried or burned). Also my parents have a farm where they raise cows. They are not dairy cows but an original Finnish breed, and owning them is just a hobby for my parents. We eat some of the bulls, but just as @Eilennamentioned, I'm okay with that 'cause our bulls can live almost natural life before they are eaten - they grow with their moms and have plenty of space to live, fields and forests. There can only be one dominant bull in the herd as you can imagine, so the others have to be taken elsewhere when they grow up. And that means they are either eaten or sold somewhere. I understand well that some people don't want to eat meat even if an animal has a natural life before being killed. The killing part is something not everyone has to accept and that's totally fine, I respect that. I personally don't have any better explanation why killing is okay for me in these cases, than I just want to eat something that is from as near as possible. When I eat a bit of moose or bull I don't have to buy some other protein source which is possibly transported from somewhere further.

    The Old Era

Haha, reminds me of a day when my friends tested if I could name all the Nightwish songs they played to me. I recognized all the songs by their intros immediately, of course - except Dead Gardens I was like "what the heck is this!?" I knew the melody but I just couldn't remember the title. Enough said about that song.

    Decades World Tour 2018

Agree with you, and in my opinion they seemed even more confident with each other than on EFMB tour. That's why I enjoy being in the front row even though sound quality isn't the best - it's so fun to see their faces and how they enjoy being on stage.

    Decades World Tour 2018

@GreatEye Yeah, I can try to find it. But Tuomas also did two hour-long interviews on Finnish radio stations so that quote may be found from either of those There's much material to search... But there were so interesting discussions on those radio interviews that I'm happy to listen to them again. No dull questions that have already been asked hundreds of times before!

    Decades World Tour 2018

Tuomas has actually said (don't remember where, a Finnish interview I believe) that his neck is a bit injured because of all the headbanging. I just hope he won't make it worse 'cause he's still headbanding like crazy

    Nightwish Off Topic

Tuomas said that he's been in contact with Tarja, but that wasn't about End of an Era since Tuomas knew nothing about the release I bet it was about Decades considering that Anette knew about that release as well.

    Decades World Tour 2018

Yeah, but we have to remember that certain old songs might be boring for Tuomas and Emppu (and possibly Marco) to play since they have played them already in the past. Back then they didn't have so many songs so there was little possibility for variety. By the way, I just found out that they have played Moondance once some time during Oceanborn era what a performance it must have been, haha!

Nightwish – Decades World Tour 2018

Eturivistä katsoen näytti, että Flooria alkoi itkettää. Ilme näytti siltä. Mutta eipä mitään, siitäkin selvittiin

    Decades World Tour 2018

I was there and I think Floor just got emotional because of Ulsch getting retired and the tour ending. You can see on her social media accounts that she still is... well.. quite in an emotional state And also: no Tero, no Nightwish!! oh wait

I also felt that TPATP went more under my skin than GLS. I was crying like a baby when I heard it live. Seriously, I just couldn't control my body. I was at the front row, and after the gig people around me said that Floor looked at me when I was crying in my friend's arms during The Pacific and she looked like she almost started crying as well and had to look away. Oh no I'm not proud of that

@Damian No, he wasn't there if you mean the pararara guy. We just did the job for him

    Decades World Tour 2018

I just had maybe one of the craziest weeks I've ever had. I went to see Nightwish at Wembley, Turku and Helsinki. Fricking expensive hobby this is, haha! But TOTALLY worth it. At Wembley I got the spot right in front of the mixing table. I've never been standing that "back" at any NW gig but that spot was very good! You got to see the visuals fully and man, the screens were so beautiful. Also sound was very good at least to my ears. Nice show. I felt very proud that it really was a Finnish band that played there. Here in Finland media is praising certain hip hop and pop stars to be the greatest stars of Finnish music, but they all are just some little mice before the mighty Nightwish and that's the truth. Sorry not sorry Then time for a Turku show six days after. Very fun show! I was in the front row as usual and you could see that the band had fun as well. Marco laughed at us when we did some pararararas with my friends during Gethsemane That pararara guy is a true legend. Wishmaster was played with Netta as people have mentioned. It was an additional song so none of the songs were removed from the set because of that. But yeah, what else can I say. The show was great. After Turku show we hurried straight to Helsinki. We went to sleep at the doors of Hartwall arena so we could get a spot in the front again. Crazy, mad and insane. But me and my friends are experienced with winter queuing and shared our blankets with other people who were not fully prepared for a cold weather. We got the spot in the front again and so the show began. And what a show it was. Truly a magical experience. The band was on fire! Tech guys actually said that it was like they had been practising for six weeks just for this show, because it was so perfect and everything went just how it should. Also this show was a very emotional one as you could imagine. In addition to it being the last show of the tour, Kai took the mic and told us that the drum tech Ulsch would be retired after the show. It was a beautiful moment when the band thanked Ulsch for those 19 years that he shared with the band. And Floor began to cry during Ghost Love Score. She apologised and said that all this was just too much to take in. So, no surprises at Hartwall. Netta played there as well but it was not a surprise really. But you know, I didn't miss anything. The show was just so perfect. I know I have been critising the setlist and told how the magic is gone blah blah, but now I disagree. The setlist had something for everyone so it was actually a very smart set. And I really felt all the songs, also "the dull crowdpleasers". The connection between the band and the audience was amazing. And we made Marco laugh again So, thank you Nightwish. This was a perfect ending for this tour. Yesterday I had a really bad physical and emotional "hangover" and didn't feel good at all, but now that the headache and nausea are gone I could write about my experiences. Farewell Decades tour, welcome album #9 era!!

    Decades World Tour 2018

I remember the band's fb team once commenting that the venue takes a lion's share of it, that's why prices are so high.

    Decades World Tour 2018

I think she sings "the void of loneliness" but yeah, I think there's no other reason than she just doesn't remember the lyrics right you know she also sings "sitting on the shoulders" in GLS and in SBTB she never sang "deep silence AND the notes" before the last chorus. Understandable when you have so many lyrics to remember and those are so minor mistakes that Tuomas probably doesn't care.
